Ralph Lauren Corp. (New York) has named Jackwyn Nemerov president and chief operating officer, succeeding Roger Farah, who becomes executive vice chairman.

Nemerov will also join chairman and ceo Ralph Lauren and executive vp, cfo and chief administrative officer Christopher Peterson in the newly created Office of the Chairman.

The company said the purpose of the Office of the Chairman “is to enhance the company’s ability to support the growth of the business in an increasingly complex global environment and capitalize on new business opportunities.”

In his new role, Farah will devote 50 percent of his time to the Lauren business. “Primarily, he’s been working all the time and now he will have more time for himself,” Lauren told Women’s Wear Daily. “He’ll work as my partner on all new projects, advising the team.”

Nemerov has been with Lauren for nine years, most recently as evp of wholesale apparel, home, accessories and footwear, product licensing, merchandising, global sourcing and supply chain. She had previously been president and coo of Jones Apparel Group.

Under the new regime, she’ll be responsible for global merchandising, manufacturing and supply chain operations, as well as the company’s retail, wholesale and licensing businesses worldwide.
