Nike Sues Lululemon for Patent Infringement

Nike Inc. (Beaverton, Ore.) has filed a lawsuit against Lululemon Athletica Inc. (Vancouver, Canada) accusing the retailer of patent infringement for making and selling the Mirror Home Gym and related mobile applications without authorization, reports Reuters.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, cites the infringement of six patents. Nike is seeking triple damages along with other remedies for alleged “willfull infringement.”

Lululemon responded in a statement: “The patents in question are overly broad and invalid. We are confident in our position and look forward to defending it in court.”
