Office Depot Introduces Smaller Stores

Office Depot (Boca Raton, Fla.) is launching a small-format store concept in Denver, where two 5000-square-foot stores have already opened and a third is planned for December, according to the Denver Post. The new stores offer computer work areas, recharging stations and free Wi-Fi.

The urban-friendly venues are the latest in a series of retail revamps aimed at targeting city dwellers and increasing sales per square foot, the Post reports, noting that a typical Office Depot is 24,000 square feet.
