RadioShack Soars Again

RadioShack Corp. (Fort Worth, Texas) reported a 16 percent increase in October for total sales from itsretail division (including sales to its dealer/franchise stores). The $371 million figure is significantly higher than last year's reported $320.9 million for the same month. Same-store sales also increased 10 percent for the month. It was the 10th straight month this year that the consumer electronics retailer – with more than 7100 stores and dealers – achieved double-digit total retail sales gains, “one of the best year-to-date performances in the company's history,” according to chairman, president and ceo Leonard Roberts. “Audio video products and direct-to-home satellite systems continue to drive our business.”
