Outdoor adventurer retailer REI (Seattle) is opening a store on Kitsap Peninsula in Silverdale, Wash., next fall. The 24,500 square-foot store will include a seasonal rental department for customers to test new outdoor activities, a bike shop with assembly and repair services and a community space for hosting outdoor-related classes, presentations and events.

“Our new Silverdale store will be much more convenient for more than 15,000 active REI members who reside along the Kitsap Peninsula,” says Kevin Golic, REI retail director for the Washington and Alaska district.

The Silverdale location will join eight other Puget Sound stores in serving more than 436,000 active members in the Seattle and Tacoma area. REI operates 127 stores in 31 states.
