RL Planning Fifth Avenue Store

Might move into old Disney space

Ralph Lauren is reportedly planning to move into the space on Fifth Avenue in New York that had been a Disney store until 2010.

A company spokesman confirmed to Women’s Wear Daily that “It is true that we have committed to the Fifth Avenue location, the former Disney space,” but would provide no other details.

The building, at 711 Fifth Avenue between 55th and 56th streets, is owned by The Coca-Cola Co. It was a retail showplace for Disney for several years, but the entertainment company has since moved its retail presence across town to Times Square.

The space, which would be roughly 35,000 square feet, is just about 15 blocks from the current Ralph Lauren retail locations (one men’s, one women’s) on Madison Avenue near 71st Street.
