Aéropostale Brand Expands to India, Indonesia

Aéropostale Inc. (New York) announced it has signed a licensing agreement that will allow the company to open stores throughout India and Indonesia, including 60 freestanding stores and 150 shops within other local stores, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

As a result of these agreements, the retailer expects to open its first standalone store in Jakarta, Indonesia, during fall 2016, and its first stores throughout India starting March 2016.

This move is the company’s latest expansion into Asian markets, as it recently launched its brand in the Philippines and Singapore. The current licensing agreements were made with Arvind Lifestyle Brands Ltd. (Bengaluru, India) and PT Mitra Adiperkasa TBK (Jakarta, Indonesia).
