Sheetz Continues Market Expansion

Sheetz Inc. (Altoona, Pa.) continues its aggressive store expansion, opening locations in Canton, Ohio, and its fourth store in the Huntington, W.Va. area. The Huntington opening completes the convenience store chain’s first phase of development in this new market, where three other stores opened this summer in Barboursville, Milton and Huntington.

“The opening of this store solidifies our presence in Southern West Virginia,” says Stan Sheetz, president and ceo, Sheetz Inc. “The others stores that opened earlier this summer have been well received by people in this community. We hope to grow and become an important part of their daily lives.”

Both locations offer the brand’s fresh food items like the MTGo! and Shweetz Bakery, as well as a full-service espresso and smoothie bar staffed by a trained barista.

Founded in 1952, Sheetz is one of the fastest growing family-owned and operated convenience store chains, with more than $4.9 billion in revenue for 2008 and more than 360 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
