Movie director creates displays for Le Bon Marché in Paris, launching her bag for Louis Vuitton

Movie writer and director Sofia Coppola has designed the Paris windows for Le Bon Marché, when the French retailer launches a new version of Coppola’s SC bag. She designed the original one for Louis Vuitton in 2009.

The  department store’s 10 windows on Rue de Sèvres feature pink neon hearts, oversize cherries and giant peonies set against the background of the Louis Vuitton monogram. Statues of baby deer carry versions of the SC bag in its new, compact BB size.

“I wanted it to be fun and feminine and to think of the bag as a present or a treat that you get yourself,” said Coppola. “It reminds me of Christmas, seeing the windows, so I wanted to do something that kids would enjoy too.”

This is the first window design effort for Coppola, whose Paris apartment is near the department store.
