Federated and Liz Claiborne to employ web-based program for controlling inventory

Published

on

Federated Department Stores (Cincinnati) and Liz Claiborne Inc. (New York) will be collaborating on a new buying and selling process, called LizPlanning, that will use software to control inventory management.

The program, called Collaborate, is being supplied by 7thOnline, a New York company that provides web- and application-based software targeted to the buying and planning processes in the global retail industry.

It has been customized specifically to Liz Claiborne and Federated's business processes, to exchange visual and financial assortment plans via the Internet.

LizPlanning is designed to ensure that each Federated door has exactly the right merchandise assortment for its defined consumer base. According to the design company, it has the potential to increase full-priced selling and reduce manual efforts, affording greater productivity and efficiency for both partners.
