Neiman’s reports 13.7 percent revenues gain

The Neiman Marcus Group (Dallas) has announced a 13.7 percent gain in total revenues for the four weeks ended Oct. 30, 2004.

The luxury retailer’s comparable revenues gained 13.6 percent for the month.

For the company’s first fiscal quarter, ended October 30, revenues have gained 10.9 percent and comparable revenues were up 10.8 percent.

October revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus stores and Bergdorf Goodman, increased 13.5 percent. The company said growth trends were the strongest in the Southeast, Midwest and West Coast regions and top merchandise categories were women’s apparel, shoes, designer handbags and precious jewelry.

The retailer said it currently expects comparable store revenues for the second quarter of its fiscal year 2005 — which includes the upcoming holiday season — to increase 8 percent to 10 percent compared to last year.
