StoreXpo 2005 is a Big Success in the Big Apple

During StoreXpo 2005, VM+SD magazine bestowed its annual crystal apple award upon the 2005 New York Stores of the Year. This year’s honorees were Fendi Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman, retail environments deemed by VM+SD as the best new retail environments that New York has to offer. These stores will be featured in the January 2006 issue of VM+SD.

StoreXpo, produced by VM+SD magazine, was held December 7-8, 2005 at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Co-locating with TREX (the Total Retail Experience), StoreXpo provided a unique and educational setting for the thousands of retailers, designers, marketers, P-O-P producers and manufacturers in attendance.

“StoreXpo takes place in one of the most dynamic cities at the most exciting times and offers some of the most innovative retail experiences in the world,” said Tedd Swormstedt, president of ST Media Group International Inc., publisher of VM+SD.

Aside from the exhibition, attendees also had the opportunity to visit showrooms around Manhattan and gain inspiration from these intimate settings. Participating showrooms included: ALU, Adel Rootstein, Almax, Alpha Display Co., Architectural Systems, Carnegie, DK Display, Holiday Foliage, Goldsmith, JP Metal America, LOOK, Patina-V, RHO, Silvestri, Universal Display & Design.

StoreXpo and TREX offered attendees seminars on the future of in-store marketing, building brand success, packaging with personality, and creating environments that bring brands to life. Keynote sessions were presented by James Damian, Senior VP of the Experience Development Group at Best Buy and Dr. Raymond Burke of Indiana University.

In addition, Jeanne Phillips has been named StoreXpo’s new Sales Director. In her new role, Jeanne will be responsible for exhibit space and sponsorship sales beginning with the 2006 StoreXpo. Jeanne brings a tremendous wealth of knowledge in the visual merchandising and store fixture industry to StoreXpo. She was one of the founding members of GlobalShop and has more than 15 years of retail experience. She can be contacted at 770-649-1222, ext. 16 or jeanne.phillips@stmediagroup.com.

StoreXpo and TREX return to the Javits December 6-7, 2006. Attendees will experience the newest products, innovative technology, and unique concepts being offered by today’s top manufacturers in the visual merchandising and store design industry, along with new educational and networking events.
