Target Appoints Tech Execs

Aims to boost online sales

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) announced yesterday the hiring of three new senior-level executives in the fields of information technology, e-commerce and digital products. According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the appointments are aimed to “accelerate (Target’s) digital transformation” and better compete with retailers such as Amazon and Walmart.

Jim Fisher, former senior vice president of global infrastructure for First Data Corp was named Target’s senior vice president of infrastructure and operations as well as technology services. Alan Wizemann, a former consultant to the company, has become vice president of Target.com and mobile products. David Weissman, former executive vice president of e-commerce and omnichannel for BCBG Max Azria Group, is Target’s new president of the DermStore, an online beauty and skin-care products firm the company acquired last year.
