Target Creates New Exec Role

Target Corp. (Minneapolis) unveiled it has created a new executive role, svp of operational excellence. The position will be focused on simplifying operational processes throughout the company.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports that Anu Gupta has been chosen to fill the new role and will report directly to Chief Operating Officer John Mulligan.

Gupta previously worked in operations for Hellman &Friedman (San Francisco), Michaels Stores Inc. (Irving, Texas) and Safeway Inc. (Pleasanton, Calif.).
