Two Men Steal Entire Jewelry Display Case from Kohl’s

Two brothers were arrested after stealing about $124,000 in merchandise from various Kohl’s stores around southern California, the Los Angeles Times reports.

One of the thefts included an entire jewelry display case containing more than $21,000 in merchandise, the article explains. The heist wasn’t exactly something you’d recognize from Ocean’s 11. One of the men merely cut the security cable, picked up the case, then carried it out to a vehicle parked near the store exit.

“It was very brazen,” Sgt. Kevin Lynch of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told the outlet, describing how the man walked out of the store with the case in front of customers and employees.

Both men have been charged with two counts of grand theft and are scheduled to appear in court this week.
