Verizon Wireless (Basking Ridge, N.J.,) debuted the first in Arizona and among the first Verizon retail locations in the nation to secure LEED gold certification from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Located in Avondale, Ariz., the store's design includes high-efficiency lighting that consumes 51 percent less energy; low-flow plumbing fixtures; and recycled-content materials used in the store, including in ceiling tiles, flooring and display fixtures.

“We are pleased and honored to be among the first in our industry to receive a Gold certification for the store's environmental design and efficiency from the USGBC,” says Brian Danfield, acting regional president of Verizon Wireless. “The proven conservation measures used in the design and operation of the store help protect the environment today and conserve resources for the future.”
