Walmart Invests in Retail Tech Startups

Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) is planning to invest in upcoming retail technology startups. The company will host a “Technology Innovation Open Call” in a partnership with Northwest Arkansas Technology Summit.

Fortune reports 100 members of the retailer’s top leadership will attend the event to search for new technologies for stores, logistics, big data, security and social media.

The company will accept 250 applications and will choose 25 to 30 finalists who will be able to pitch their ideas to Walmart executives. The chosen teams will work with Walmart to produce their technology for the market.
