Merchandising high-end apparel has always been about simplicity, even when garments themselves are covered with glam details. Around the globe, branded luxury shops and even non-apparel boutiques have taken this minimalist atmosphere to its limits with stores that could outpace art museums for aesthetic gravitas and beauty.

This pewter retailer bows to its heritage of craftsmanship with raw ore, elongated timber merchandise displays (reminiscent of palongs, or sluices, used in mining) and grey hues which evoke pewter shavings. The project was honored by Shaw Contract Group for innovation in design in May.
