H&M, the international clothing retailer known for its inexpensive and trendy clothing, replaced its traditional window mannequins with an interactive illuminated window display declaring Madonna as its new celebrity spokesperson at its New York flagship (at 51st and 5th Avenue).

The large-format graphics of the pop-icon, created by BluOcean Media, a visual communications and production company based in New York, were illuminated using CeeLite’s (Blue Bell, Pa.) Light Emitting Capacitor (LEC) panels and suspended inside 10 windows at the H&M store. Seventy-two 3-by-5 foot LEC panels illuminated the five two-story high images of Madonna and were coordinated in a fade-in and fade-out sequence, ultimately creating a 14-second illuminated fashion show that lit up the city street below.

“We truly believe CeeLite is going to revolutionize the visual communications marketplace,” said David Stadler, BluOcean Media’s ceo. “What better way to bring this exciting new technology to market than partnering with H&M, the world's most innovative fashion retailer.”

H&M plans to launch the illuminated displays at other locations around the globe, as well as install new holiday-themed graphics at the New York store in November.
