Amazon to Grow India Operations

Warehouses to service new markets

Amazon.com Inc.’s (Seattle) Indian operation, which launched in June 2103, will open five new warehouse fulfillment centers, nearly doubling its storage capacity in that country. Amazon currently operates warehouses near Mumbai and Bangalore.

The new centers will be located in Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Gurgaon. The expansion will allow for same-day and next-day delivery service in these areas, according to Reuters News Service. The Indian Amazon.com is a platform for outside vendors to sell their products.
