Elevation Exhibits & Events Adds Two New Members to its Growing Team

Elevation Exhibits & Events, an award-winning exhibit design and event-planning firm, has announced two new additions to its growing team of exhibit professionals, filling positions in both account services and exhibit design.

“We always look for unusual talent, people who bring something extra to the table,” said Ken Karns, president and principal of Elevation Exhibits & Events. “We think we’ve found just that in Sara Avellar and Matthew McLaughlin.”

Sara Avellar has been named account manager for Elevation Exhibits & Events, a role she relishes after working her way up from the ground floor where she learned all the details and hard work necessary for a successful exhibit. She says her background in theater helps her understand the performance aspect of exhibiting. A Cape Cod native, she is a certified sailing instructor and a trained barista. Said Sara, “I’m ready to adjust to any situation and find a solution.”

Matthew McLaughlin is Elevation’s newest junior exhibit designer. A Minnesota native, Matthew graduated from Bemidji State University, one of only two colleges in the US that offers degrees specific to the exhibit design industry. At BSU Matt, was a leader of the Design Guild, an organization that immersed students in current exhibit industry events. He worked as an intern at Skyline Exhibits in 2014, and was awarded the EXHIBITOR Media Group Student Achievement Award. He also has his own photography business. Said Matthew, “I hope someday to give back to the BSU program and mentor students and future designers.”
