The Home Depot (Atlanta) announced a series of immediate executive changes this week. Bill Patterson, previously president of the Northwest division, becomes president of the 217-store Midwest division; Troy Rice, vice president of sales and service for the Southwest division, takes Patterson's place as president of the 83-store Northwest division; and Bob Wittman, senior vp with responsibility for the company's four-store Villager's Hardware operation, has been named president of the company's 33-store EXPO Design Center business.

Prior to joining the company in 1999, Patterson had been president and ceo of Groupo Salinas y Rocha, a retailer-manufacturer in Mexico. He replaces Vern Joslyn, a 17-year Home Depot veteran, who is leaving the company for other business opportunities.

Troy Rice is a 10-year Home Depot veteran who joined the company as an assistant manager and held senior operating positions in the Southeast Division and at the Home Depot Store Support Center in Atlanta.

Wittman has held senior management positions in the merchandising and strategic business development areas since joining Home Depot in 1997. He will replace Barry Silverman, who is leaving to pursue alternate business interests
