Jim Foster Jumps from JumpNY

Jim Foster, formerly principal of the Manhattan retail design firm JumpNY, has joined CDI Group (New York) as vp of business development. CDI, a retail strategy, branding and design consulting firm, is a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Miller Zell Inc. (Atlanta).

Foster's background includes stints as director of sales and marketing for DVMI Design & Visual Merchandise Inc., where his projects included retail facilities for Donna Karan, Toys 'R'Us and the New York City flagship stores of Disney, Brookstone, Tourneau Watch and the National Basketball Association. He was previously marketing director, North America, with C&J Partners, Los Angeles-based design and architecture firm; and director of sales and marketing with Von Hausen Studios, an architectural forms, design, fabrication and installation firm also based in Los Angeles.

At JumpNY, Foster was responsible for retail projects for such clients as Louis Vuitton Worldwide, Armani Exchange, Ralph Lauren Footwear, Giorgio Armani, Aveda Nationwide, Ducati Worldwide, Borders Books and the NASA-Space Center visitors'retail store at Cape Canaveral, Fla.
