Pot Vending Machines In-store

Self-serve marijuana dispensaries hit Colorado

Published

on

Not only can qualified Colorado residents purchase marijuana legally, but soon they can serve themselves using an automated pot vending machine.

The state's first machine was unveiled this week at a Montana’s Smokehouse location in Avon, Colo., The Washington Post reported. The machine will eventually dispense licensed products from medical marijuana company Herbal Elements to those who are eligible to purchase them under the state's new retail marijuana laws.

Currently, 21 states and Washington, D.C. have passed laws legalizing the sale of medical or recreational marijuana. As more retailers capitalize on the growing market, vending machines to facilitate the sale of the still highly regulated substance could be the first of many innovations. The machines offer customers more privacy, and they help stores with loss provention and inventory control efforts.
