Walmart Caters to Last-Minute Shoppers

Bolsters its in-store pick-up services and offerings

Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced its plans to provide faster customer service for last-minute shoppers this holiday season.

Though the store plans to close two hours earlier than it has previously on Christmas Eve, it has brainstormed a variety of ways to facilitate shoppers. For instance, customers will be able to place orders up until 6p.m. on Dec. 23 and then pick them up in-store on Christmas Eve.

This is the first year that the retailer has heavily pushed customers toward its in-store order pick-up service, reports Fortune. The company expects use of this service to increase five-fold this holiday season. To complement that, it has also added tens of thousands of items to its online roster that are available for same-day pick up.
