JCPenney Adds 4th C-Level Exec in the Last 8 Months

Stephanie Plaines

The retailer has tapped Stephanie Plaines as its new CFO, marking Rosen’s fourth C-level hire since the start of the year.

Plaines is a former executive at Starbucks and Walmart who most recently served as CFO of Jones Lang LaSalle, a commercial real estate commercial services company. In her new role, she’ll lead the retailer’s financial strategy as it concerns real estate, capital deployment, credit services, sourcing and accounting.

Plaines joins three other fresh faces on JCPenney’s leadership team. CMO John Aylward was hired in May, while CIO Sharmeelee Bala and Chief Digital and Transformation Officer Katie Mullen were hired in January.

Rosen joined JCPenney from Levi Strauss in November 2021.
