Office Depot Appoints New Executives

Promotions and new hires intended to help company grow its online sales

Office Depot (Boca Raton, Fla.) announced a series of new executive appointments and promotions, which are expected to help the retailer grow its online sales and expand certain services and products.

John Gannfors was hired as the company’s executive vp, transformation and strategic sourcing. He will be responsible for driving business process improvements and executing on efficiency and cost savings. Gannfors worked previously for Lenovo (Morrisville, N.C.) alongside Office Depot’s current Chief Executive Officer Gerry Smith.

Troy Rice was promoted from executive vp and chief operating officer to president of the retail division. He has been with the company since April 2014.

Michael Allison was promoted to executive vp, chief administrative officer, having previously been the company’s chief people officer.

Finally, Kevin Moffitt was named chief digital officer. He previously was the company’s senior senior vp for e-commerce, reports Sun Sentinel.
