The Ginza store's minimal rectilinear form and elegant materials contrast starkly with its busy surroundings. Bead-blasted stainless-steel panels mark the first three levels, while the top five floors use an open-joint, glass, rain-screen system in front of floor-to-ceiling, stainless-steel, sliding-glass doors — which also create an acoustical and weather barrier for the interior. And two custom-designed all-glass elevators add to the exterior ambiance.
