VM+SD to Launch StoreXpo

New York winter market event will debut in December 2003 at Javits Center

ST Media Group International (Cincinnati), publisher of VM+SD, has announced the launch of StoreXpo, a new New York winter market for the retail design and visual merchandising industry. The first annual StoreXpo will be held Dec, 5-7, 2003, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Participating Visual New York (VNY) showrooms will also open their doors during the three-day event.

The industry's New York winter market, a staple for decades, was in danger of disappearing after VNU Expositions Inc. folded ShopEast after five years. VNY will be holding their showroom event Dec. 5-7, 2002, but there will be no winter market trade show component for the market for perhaps the first time ever.

“When the industry looks to see what's new, it looks to New York,” said Carole Winters, associate publisher of VM+SD. “That's why it's imperative that the annual winter market in New York not only continues, but grows.”

“With the advent of StoreXpo at the Javits, the industry now has a world-class trade show venue in retail's capital city,” said VNY president David Terveen. “The New York winter market has a long and proud history, and we are very pleased knowing VM+SD will provide the support that an event of this significance deserves.”

Taking place in the River Pavilion at the Javits Center, StoreXpo will feature 45,000 square feet of exhibit space, showcasing the most innovative products from every facet of retail design. Companies interested in exhibiting at StoreXpo should contact ST Media Group vp of sales Tim McKelvey at 800-925-1110 or 513-421-2050, ext. 389, or e-mail him at tim.mckelvey@stmediagroup.com.
