BHDP adds senior project designer; Graj+Gustavsen launches Sierra Club brand; JHP Design develops ne

Management Changes:

BHDP Architecture (Cincinnati architectural firm) has hired C.J. Lindberg as senior project designer.

Business Briefs:

Graj+Gustavsen (New York brand development and licensing firm), which created a brand platform for the Sierra Club and holds the license for specific Sierra Club products, will host the brand launch of the Sierra Club Collection in New York on Feb. 4, 2003.

MDF Powder Coat Systems (Portsmouth, R.I., powder coating supplier and manufacturer) has announced the opening of a 300-foot coating line and R&D test facility in Portsmouth, R.I. The facility will allow MDF customers to select and test an individually designed system to best suit their needs.

JHP Design Consultants (London design firm) has been appointed to develop a new retail design concept for the Tom Tailor brand. The new concept will include new flagship stores, franchises and shop-in-shops throughout Europe for the retailer's product range of men's, women's and kid's clothing and accessories.

Awards & Competitions:

Commerce Design Montreal was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award at the International Downtown Association's (IDA) Downtown Achievement Awards. The Commerce Design Montreal project, an initiative of the City of Montreal, celebrates excellence among Montreal businesses for interior and exterior designs of their businesses. The IDA awards recognize achievements in revitalization projects and programs in downtown areas.

TIR Systems Ltd. (Vancouver, British Columbia, specialty lighting systems provider) received the Innovator of the Year award from the BP Global Alliance, a partnership between BP and Bovis Lend Lease aimed at delivering retail site services across the globe. The award recognizes TIR's product and project management innovations and customer focus.
