Target (Minneapolis) announced it will require its employees to wear masks in high-risk counties across the U.S., reports CNBC. The new guidelines will begin Tuesday, August 3. Face coverings will be strongly encouraged for shoppers in those counties but will not be enforced.

Walmart (Bentonville, Ark.) announced last Friday that it would require staff to wear masks in counties with high rates of transmission.

A company spokesperson said in a statement, according to CNBC, “We’ll follow all local mandates, as we have throughout the pandemic, and continue to monitor guidance from the CDC closely.”
