Lane Bryant, the 710-unit division of Charming Shoppes Inc. (Bensalem, Pa.) selling women’s plus-size apparel, will open its newest store tomorrow (April 15, 2004) on West 34th Street in New York.

It’s the first Lane Bryant store in midtown Manhattan in 10 years and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the very first Manhattan Lane Bryant store opened by Lena Bryant in 1904. The 4500-square-foot store will be located on the north side of West 34th Street, directly across from the Empire State building, between Broadway and Sixth Avenue.

“34th Street is the heart of retail in Manhattan and we are happy to become a part of it,” said Lane Bryant president Lorna Nagler. “New York women of all sizes have a unique sense of style and our 34th Street location will reflect their modern taste and chic sensibility.”
