Abercrombie Debuts Middle East Store

Unveils new store design

Abercrombie & Fitch (New Albany, Ohio) has opened its first store in the United Arab Emirates this week. Located in the Mall of Emirates, the 18,000-square-foot space is one of the retailer’s largest mall-based stores in the world, reports Women’s Wear Daily.

The store features the retailer’s new store design, which is open and brighter, with taller ceilings and freestanding cabinets. It also includes the retailer’s first-ever standalone fragrance boutique, as well as a space for the abercrombie kids brand.

Though the company’s business has struggled as of late, it reports that its sales in the Middle East are doing well in unit-per-transaction conversion rates. In fact, fragrance alone accounted for 19.6 percent of the beauty and wellness market in the Middle East and Africa last year, which is why the retailer decided to install the fragrance counter. The company's children’s apparel also performs well in this region.
