American Apparel (Los Angeles) has voted to fire Dov Charney, founder of the fashionable clothier with racy advertising, reports The New York Times. He was suspended and removed as chairman immediately, and will be terminated after 30 days.

The decision comes during an ongoing investigation of several sexual harassment charges against Charney along with other controversies, and after years of poor financial performance, according to the Times.

American Apparel’s cfo, John Luttrell, was installed as interim chief executive, and two directors will become co-chairmen of the board.
