Ann Inc. Reports Fourth Quarter Growth

New York-based Ann Inc. reports total net sales for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2011 grew to $566.7 million, compared with net sales of $515.3 million in 2010. Total company comparable sales for the quarter increased 5.3 percent. By brand, same-store sales dropped 1.1 percent at Ann Taylor stores and increased 10.5 percent at LOFT.

“For 2011, Ann Inc. delivered another year of significant profitable growth, reflecting double digit increases in sales, net income and earnings per diluted share,” says Kay Krill, president and ceo. “Total net sales for the year rose 12 percent, with net income, excluding charges, up 17 percent.”

Looking to 2012, the company says it will focus on continuing LOFT's strong momentum as well as improving the sales productivity and profitability at Ann Taylor stores.

The retailer operates 953 stores, including 280 Ann Taylor stores, 99 Ann Taylor Factory stores, 500 LOFT stores, and 74 LOFT Outlet stores.
