Another Penney’s Logo Change?

Ron Johnson’s JCP seems to be vanishing

Is JCPenney Co. Inc. (Plano, Texas) wiping away all traces of the Ron Johnson era?

According to Yahoo Business Insider, the retailer seems to be minimizing the new logo Johnson unveiled in January 2012, which rebranded the company as JCP.

Yahoo notes a new logo, fully spelling out the company’s name, has begun to appear in various promotional packages, like its catalogs and some of its advertising, both print and on line.

“JCPenney hasn't formally announced a logo change and didn't return our emails for confirmation,” said the online news report, “but given its recent apology tour and dedication to bring back positive old store elements in its new chapter, the change certainly makes logical sense.”
