United Colors of Benetton (Milan) will begin a Russian expansion in the coming months. The new push began with the redesign and reopening of its Moscow flagship last week. The company says it will roll out 40 additional stores across Russia by the end of 2017. A company officer told Women’s Wear Daily that the Russian market will be an important part of the company’s portfolio.

Benetton currently operates eight stores in Russia. Another 100 units are run by local partners and franchisees. The new stores feature a new layout, “On Canvas” — screens showing different clothing combinations. Area rugs and sofas create a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
