Best Buy Closing 15 Canadian Locations

Looking to shutter stores in China and Europe

Best Buy (Minneapolis) is closing 15 of its 75 stores in Canada, The Wall Street Journal reports. The company says it plans to open smaller stores in Canada in the future, while also looking to close locations in both China and Europe.

In 2012, the electronics retailer closed 50 U.S. locations, and reported same-store sales dropped 6 percent during the holiday season. Ceo Hubert Joly says the the company does not plan on closing “many more” of its locations in the U.S., according to WSJ.
