Big Lots Inc. (Columbus, Ohio) has realigned its merchandising organization into three categories – food and consumables; furniture and home décor; and seasonal, toys and electronics – and named three executives to manage those categories.

Trey Johnson was named senior vp and general merchandise manager for food and consumables. He was previously divisional merchandise manager of food, joining Big Lots in August following food-and-consumables stints with Family Dollar, Sears, Walmart and SuperValu.

New to the company are Martha Withers, senior vp and gmm for furniture and home décor; and Lucy Cindric, senior vp and gmm for seasonal, toys and electronics.

Withers has been with Stage Stores, Stein Mart, and May Department Stores; Cindric with Stage Stores, Walmart, May, Foley's and Dayton Hudson.

“As we look at our business through the lens of our customer, we know she wants quality, tasteful, branded merchandise at great values,” ceo and president David Campisi told Retailing Today.com. “We've realigned our merchandising organization, and added key leadership, to exceed [our shopper’s] expectations every time she shops our stores.”
