Retailer Boontheshop (Seoul, South Korea) has opened a new 27,000-square-foot store in Cheongdam, Seoul’s luxury district. Designed by Peter Marino (New York), the flagship features two angular buildings clad in white marble and connected by glass bridges. Speaking to Women’s Wear Daily, Marino says, “It’s as shocking, when compared to traditional Korean buildings, as the Guggenheim Museum was when it opened in 1959 on Fifth Avenue.”

Boontheshop carries labels such as Alexander McQueen and Victoria Beckham. Marino is also known for designing global flagships for such brands as Chanel, Céline, Dior and Ermenegildo Zegna in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Boontheshop is owned by department store company Shinsegae (Seoul).
