Design and brand strategy consultancy Lippincott (New York) has hired Daniel Montaño León as a partner at its New York office. Prior to joining Lippincott, Montaño served as studio principal for the Ideation team at Little.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has named Dwayne Chambers senior vp and chief marketing officer. He will be responsible for all domestic and international marketing operations for the company.

BUSINESS BRIEFS

Architecture firm Callison (Seattle) and Haya Architects (Beijing) have entered into a joint venture to form Callison (China). The two firms have collaborated on past projects, including multiple Nike, Central Department Store and Wangfujing locations.

Macy’s Inc. (Cincinnati) is expanding its online order fulfillment center near Portland in Robertson County, Tenn., to accommodate continued growth in website sales. The department store retailer plans to add 374,000 square feet to the Portland facility, which was built in spring 2007.

Gemini Inc. (Cannon Falls, Minn.), a manufacturer of dimensional letters for the sign industry, announced that its Minnesota manufacturing facility recently earned an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Minnesota Safety Council. The award was made in recognition of Gemini’s excellence in injury prevention performance in occupational safety.

Martin Professional (Aarhus, Denmark) announced that customer care coordinator Tina Melholt is celebrating 25 years with the company. Melholt, who ranks as the longest serving employee at the lighting manufacturer, started in 1985 when Martin was called dp electronic A/S and produced only amplifiers and a smoke machine.
