Colliers Ranks Canada’s Hottest Retail Streets

A ranking of Canada's ritziest shopping strips shows rents have increased 3.3 percent from 2010's level, according to Colliers International’s annual ranking of the world's most expensive retail strip. This year’s list puts Toronto's Bloor Street at the most expensive retail strip in Canada.

•Robson Street, Vancouver $150
•Alberni Street, Vancouver $105
•Rue De La Montagne, Montreal $80
•Spring Garden Road, Halifax $70
•Greene Avenue, Montreal $60
•Government Street, Victoria $60
•17th Avenue, Calgary $55
•Fourth Avenue, Vancouver $48
•Byward Market, Ottawa $45

“The lease rates in Canada’s most sought-after retail locations say more about our cities than about the local or global economy,” Colliers director James Smerdon told
CBC/Radio-Canada. “Canada continues to be a very lucrative destination for retailers, developers and investors in the high-end retail niche.”
