Premiere Design Boutique Doubles Space and Introduces “The Furniture Store at HighStreet”

“Underground Business for People in The Know”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Cincinnati – September 20, 2014 – HighStreet, the region’s preeminent interior design and lifestyle store is proud to announce the expansion of its fiercely and thoughtfully curated destination shop, located on the edges of downtown and Over-the-Rhine. The expansion of HighStreet is largely attributed to its steady growing consumer base in the tri-state area and beyond, attracting shoppers from around the world. Renowned as a forerunner of interior design and treasured items, HighStreet combines design services and objets d’art into purposeful balances of utility and creativity in commercial as well as residential design projects.

Two years in the making, the second floor of the already expansive warehouse will now be the new home of “The Furniture Store at HighStreet.” Since opening in 2006, HighStreet has primarily been regarded as an underground destination for people in the know looking to find inspiration for their home projects or discover the perfect gift. In response to organic demand from the long-running base of clients who have come to rely on the HighStreet’s inspired home design solutions, the expansion effectively doubles the store’s footprint to 17,000 square feet and serves to expand their interior design services at both the residential and commercial level.

“The expansion to the second floor will allow us to offer additional large scale artwork and showcase even more furniture, something that we have been eager to offer our design clients and retail customers,” said Matt Knotts, Co-Founder of HighStreet. “We have always worked to provide a retail journey that inspires and provides our guests with an immersive other-worldly experience, and are thrilled to see this expansion come to fruition.”

While the first floor seduces shoppers with its whimsical home goods, a formidable fashion boutique, and fiercely fashionable accessories, the second floor is dedicated to providing an inspiring showroom of interior de´cor.. The second floor will feature carefully curated interior environments showcasing a wide selection of designer furniture thoughtfully interspersed with a variety of merchandise from renowned luxury and lifestyle brands. . Also featured on the second floor is an in-house upholstery studio that will allow customization of furniture, draperies, and wall treatments from an impressive and newly renovated design and textile library that will be open to the public, one of the largest resources of its type in the area. Even more exciting, the second floor will be used as a rotating art exhibition space for displaying local and national artists work at least twice a year, as well as serving as a space for hosting events.

Other noteworthy additions to HighStreet include a doubling of its award-wining bookstore, and the launch of their new luxury spa and body care section. A new direct access entrance via Dandridge St. will be open starting September 24th, and HighStreet will be hiring four new full- time employees to meet demand in addition to its 10 full-time current employees.

“The expansion of the second floor has been years in the making, and this is truly an inspiring and exciting time here at HighStreet,,” said Leah Spurrier, Co-Founder of HighStreet, “our ever- increasing growth has been steady because we’ve always had a sense of identity and purpose- a true lifestyle brand. Time and again, we have proven that our best offering comes from helping people articulate their design vision, whether for home or work.”

In celebration of the new expansion, HighStreet is wrapping the second floor exterior with an impactful photographic art mural, serving to enhance the neighborhood, and the city. The official opening of The Furniture Store at High Street will take place during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday September 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at HighStreet, located at 1401 Reading Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45202. The public is invited to attend.
