Working-class icon turned fashion iconoclast Dr. Martens opens the doors to its first pop-up shop September 19. Designed by Campaign in collaboration with Fresh, a creative brand management firm, the store is styled to look like a warehouse. Playing off the brand’s rugged roots, the space is filled with industrial overtones such as off-the-shelf fittings, shrink-wrapped furniture, hanging barriers made from yellow PVC and metal caging. Specially commissioned graphics and artwork are complemented by found and recycled collections.

Forget the grand entrance. Customers start their shopping experience by literally coming in the back door through the stock room. Once inside, they will be able to shop for Dr. Martens’ original mens and womens footwear ranges as well as limited edition collaborations from Louise Body, Raf Simons, Stussy and Yohji Yamamoto. The store shuts down September 27.
