Wal-Mart to test 24-hour pharmacy service

Published

on

Wal-Mart Stores (Bentonville, Ark.) has announced the launch of 24-hour pharmacies, beginning with five stores in Arkansas and Texas.

“The need to consult a pharmacist or fill a prescription can occur day or night,” said Frank Segrave, Wal-Mart’s vp, pharmacy. “By doubling the number of hours we’re available each day, we’re looking to meet, and hopefully exceed, our customers’ expectations for this expanded service.”

“We’re going to concentrate on these five pharmacies and work to perfect our model,” said Ron Chomiuk, vp, pharmacy operations. “These facilities will allow us to gather feedback from our customers and our associates on what we’re doing right and how we can further enhance this concept.”

The 24-hour concept will debut in Bentonville; Arlington, Texas; Fort Worth; and Plano, Texas.
