Fast Retailing Plans for J Brand

Company opening two standalone U.S. stores and Japanese subsidiary

Less than a year after acquiring J Brand, the Los Angeles-based denim company, Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. (Yamaguchi, Japan) has announced plans to open the brand’s first two standalone stores and to establish a J Brand Co. Ltd. In Japan.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Fast Retailing – which also owns  Uniqlo, Theory and Helmut Lang – is seeking a location for a Los Angeles store, to open by the summer of 2014, and a New York site for the end of that year.

The company said J Brand Japan would be operated as a subsidiary owned by Fast Retailing, for the purposes of creating and developing the J Brand business in Japan.
