Dale Ginger Joins Skyline Design; Chico's Announces Executive Promotions; Herst Retiring from Peerless Lighting

Management Changes:

Skyline Design (Chicago decorative arts firm) has hired Dale Ginger as national account executive, art services, to develop its custom thematic business in North America.

Chico's FAS Inc. (Fort Myers, Fla., apparel retailer) has promoted Linda Costello to senior vp, product development; Rod Olson to senior vp, operations of its White House | Black Market unit; Charles McMurray to vp, production and quality; and Phillip Morris to vp, media, production and budget. The company has also hired Debbie Martin as vp, product development, and Brian French as vp, construction.

Meijer (Grand Rapids, Mich., grocery and general merchandise supercenter retailer) has hired Bruce Efird as its executive vp, merchandising.

Océ Display Graphics Systems Inc. (Richmond, B.C.) has promoted Gido van Praag to president and ceo.

Acuity Brands Lighting (Conyers, Ga.) announced that Doug Herst, head of its Peerless Lighting and Architectural Product Group, is retiring on Dec. 31. Peerless Lighting was founded by Herst's family in 1892, and was acquired by Acuity in 1999.

Alkco (Franklin Park, Ill., designer and manufacturer of commercial and residential lighting) has named the following sales representatives: Resource Lighting Inc. (Virginia Beach, Va.), which will represent the company in eastern Virginia; and Lighting & Controls (Parma, Ohio), which will cover eastern Ohio.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC, Washington, D.C.) has partnered with Turner Construction (New York) to launch a web-based training course to educate building industry professionals about LEED(r) (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditation requirements. The three-hour course includes case studies, interactive learning exercises and a practice exam. The course is on the council's web site, www.usgbc.org. It costs $150 for USGBC members and $200 for non-members.
