Havertys Plans Five New Stores

Havertys Furniture Companies Inc. (Atlanta) plans to open five new Havertys furniture stores — one before the end of 2014 and four in 2015.

Three of the stores will be located in new markets for the brand.

“Our execution of store repositioning and expansion began to accelerate in the second half of this year,” Clarence Smith, chairman, president and CEO of Havertys told Chain Store Age. “Three store relocations and three new stores have opened or are slated to open by the end of 2014.”

The retailer currently operates 119 stores.
