Fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz (Stockholm, Sweden) reported a worse-than-expected same-store sales drop last month, as sales dropped 9 percent. The decline marks the seventh consecutive monthly decline in sales for the fashion retailer.

According to The Wall Street Journal, analysts polled by Dow Jones Newswires had predicted comparable store sales would be down 7.7 percent.

H&M reported total sales were better, rising 1 percent in November. The chain states sales in December were off to a good start at 11 percent higher than compared to the first two weeks in December last year.
