It’s wheels up for Hudson’s frictionless store concept at Los Angeles International Airport.

The travel retailer, which operates more than 1000 stores at airports, commuter hubs and tourist destinations in North America, plans to open its “Nonstop” format at LAX Terminal 3 in the next few months.

Hudson’s Nonstop stores feature Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. By inserting a credit card or hovering their palm over an Amazon One device, travelers can enter the store, pick up their goods, and exit without stopping to pay.

Hudson will also open an “Evolve” store at LAX Terminal 3, which will offer a product selection tailored to the local market and feature self-checkout and mobile POS.

Both LAX stores combined will measure more than 3100 square feet.

Hudson says it became the first travel retailer to deploy Amazon One. The company opened its first Nonstop store at Dallas Love Field Airport in March 2021. This past June, the format opened at Nashville International Airport.
